August 2022

We just celebrated our 31st Anniversary. Strange to think that many years have passed, as it really doesn’t seem that long ago I was getting ready for our wedding.

In those 31 years we have had our share of ups and downs as all couples do. We just have the view that it will be worked out and tomorrow is a new day.

Other updates:

Business: I have been struggling with the DTF printer. One day it is printing somewhat ok then days like today the white is not working at all… I am quite frustrated to be honest. The white layer when it is printing is not very thick. So what we are now deciding is that once the money from the inheritance comes in we are buying the better larger DTF printer.

Home: Since I posted last we have our new dog Brodie. He is a Red Doberman and is a gentle giant. 4 yrs old and learning how to play. Sasha is bossy with him and he doesn’t care. Mya is happy to have a large dog to rest with.

We are also getting ready to purchase the house as soon as we have the money we will proceed with the sale.

Family: Grandma is in hospital again. She had twisted bowels, so they did the surgery and she is on the mend. Not sure if she will be able to go home again.

Steven and Rain are doing well in BC. Steven is still working with Fabricland and is enjoying working there. Rain is doing something with the college I believe. I will have to ask more questions. We don’t talk as much as we used to.

Daryon and Taylor are doing well. Daryon is working with Nissan and is becoming the leader we always saw him growing towards. His dream is to own his own garage one day. Taylor is still waitressing and doing well with it. We had an impromptu visit on Sunday and was again told I probably won’t have any grand babies… I reminded them I am not in a rush and I will see what they decide when they are in their 30’s LOL

I don’t have much else to say right now as I am sitting here trying to focus and not having much luck.

Rusty

Rustys last day!

Rusty came to us when he was 3 yrs old he was a yappy happy dog. 4 lbs and full of bravery and well to be honest stupidity lol…

He loved his fur siblings Mya and Trooper I would catch the 3 of them sleeping all together.

We put Trooper down 2 yrs ago when he was 12 and now that Rusty is 12 he has joined him.

Rusty has been in a lot of pain over the past while, so much so that we even used CBD oil to give him some relief. It helped but not enough…

I’ve been preparing for this day, however I don’t know if you can truly prepare for these days.

Rusty taught me that I can love and cherish even the smallest of the canines lol 4 lbs of pure love!

2022 New Beginnings

The year has begun and already we have some big changes happening.

1 Probably getting a new dog to join our home. His name is Brody and he is Johns uncles dog. Unfortunately, Uncle Fred passed and that has left Uncle Mike alone with the responsibility of caring for him and he is a Doberman Pincer so a large dog. We are unsure of when this will happen but it will be a big change for him as he is born and raised in Victoria BC. So the climate is very different than here. All the same we will give him a loving home to be in. Honestly, I am excited to have a large dog again.

2 We have decided to move the manufacturing part of Uniquely Ys to another location for growth, the new location is in Arnprior and that means I will have an extra hour a day to work in between bus runs. The space is the upstairs with lots of Natural Sunlight and lots of room to move around in. John will take one of the rooms and Stan will be taking the other. There is a huge property that we can make use of. This is a big change but movement into progression.

3 Christmas break has been extended till Jan 17th so far… So I’m using the time to do up straggling orders but also going to be working on the website and preparing for the move.

4 Mental Health is so far stable, I have support from Community Mental Health and still continuing with COPE (Couples Overcoming PTSD Everyday) We are fortunate to have these available.

5 Mom has a Tumor on her Thyroid Gland and is waiting to find out what they are going to do about it. In the meantime she is down to 87 lbs and very lethargic, weak. I am hoping that after the surgery (whenever that may be) that she will start to get better again.

So as you see lots of things going on. I’m trying my best to stay healthy mentally. As I know I can put myself under a ton of extra pressure trying to do everything all at once.

oh and side note Covid Finally hit our Family. Steven and Rain had it. Thankfully they are both Vaccinated and it didn’t effect them to bad. They are both fine. It has hit a few of my friends as well but no one we normally associate with so for the time being we are ok.

Stay Safe and Healthy as much as possible.

Fall 2021

So much has been going on since the last time I rook the time to post.

Currently we have Dylan living with us with his Dog Sid and her 9 4 week old pups… trying very hard not to get attached and beg John to keep one haha… trying…

Store is starting to pick up. I have a few orders and more are coming… Truckers Tourettes is going to build up. Needing new equipment to support the demand.

Replaced a mug press with the next one that does so much more. Ordered many more blanks.

Working with Jon and Vera the artists in house. To help sell their art but also increase the awareness of what can be done.

We are finally going to the COPE program on November 14. Will be away for the week. So will no bus or store for the full week. Looking forward to it as we have been on the waiting list for over 2 yrs.

I finally have a mental health worker again. Cassidy. Will work through the workbooks from bounce back with her.

Lots of moving forward…

I need to record that I’m still in a ton of pain from my left achiles tendon. Getting worse and sciatica is starting to act up again.

Uncle Jim is in hospital again. Prostate cancer and not sure what else. John is preparing for a funeral. I won’t be able to go with him.

Jaimie is coming to inspect again… we hired Rhonda to get house back in order. Mel is going to come up and help as needed. Dylan is building a space in the barn for him and Sid.

I think I have most of it caught up now.

Projects getting done

August

Well that went fast. Next Tuesday I go back to work driving the bus again. I can’t explain how excited and happy I am to be with the kids again.

I have 3 new students that I’m excited to meet. I am going to do up the name tags this weekend.

I have switched hosting sites for my website so I am going to work on building it over the weekend. I am happy I will be saving some money but wish I didn’t do this switch at this time.

I am building healthier relationships which is great.

I am working on my mental health with the Bounce Back program. I did the first couple workbooks and am going to work through the next one on being assertive and building healthy boundaries.

We had a great visit with Grandma and took the dogs with us. The trailer was comfortable for the most part. We were in a heat wave so it was a bit hot in the afternoon but thank goodness for AC. Rusty and Sasha are great travelers.

Daryon and Taylor looked after Ester and Dylan looked after Mya, Rio and Copy Cat. Everyone survived lol

So now onto working the store and driving the bus. Getting my bookkeeping up to date with Wendy. Starting singing lessons to build up my confidence again.

Really trying not to overload myself as I am not wanting a crash. So I am trying to build a safety net of support to help me through this.

September

So far I’ve been home over a week and back to work for a week.

House is crowded and unorganized of course but John has been doing a lot of upkeep. It is my own failing to be honest. I am so drained.

I’ve had a few orders to complete and most are done and shipped or delivered. Tried the convection oven method and it works great.

Having a hard time getting to sleep and not getting the rest needed. So going to go back on Trazadone to get myself sorted again. I just started the toprimate as well and it is helping with the anxiety and picking.

I’ve been having issues with allergies and asthma. The asthma is due to the disinfectant we use on the bus. So far I’ve not gotten to the gym in between runs because I’m exhausted and go home to nap. Going to try getting there tomorrow and Friday.

I have Troopers ashes in the urn now just need a picture on it. Then I will be settled with that. I’m not ready to put him outside. Not sure if I’m going to.

We are looking at trying to get a mortgage for a house we saw on Garden of Eden Rd. It would suit us perfectly. Our credit rating with Equifax is poor so will need to find a lender that will work with us.

As for the bus the McEvenues are homeschooling but everyone else is back. I’ve added a couple stops but that is really only 1 extra family as I have Coda no matter which parent he is with now.

Wearing a mask is not an issue. Only problem is trying to look down and not trip on things or when I’m writing it blocks my view but driving is fine.

We spray the bus after each run before leaving the bus. As I mentioned it is aggravating my lungs but I’m hoping to adjust or get permission to use Soluguard.

Final descent for this year.

We are currently descending and John will be at the airport to pick me up.

I’m super glad I bought myself a new suitcase combo. I am able to put my cpap in the carry on and all the tumblers plus my clothing fit in the suitcase. Without using the extender part of it.

Had a great night with Cheryl and family.

I’m trying not to feel sad about going home to a place without my Trooper. It is super frustrating for me.

Troopers favourite spot to be with me.

Tonight we are going to stay at the hotel and tomorrow pick up Char and head back to Renfrew.

On the go…

Juno was picked up from the pound yesterday morning thankfully she was found and safe.

Bought a phone for Jay yesterday, he promised to pay me back… by end September. I’m hoping he will follow through.

This morning I left around 7:30. Arrived in time that the ticket booth guy thought I could make the 9 AM ferry. Nope. On the 10… that’s ok. It is the time I booked.

Brook stopped in for a bit yesterday before she went with her Mom. She had me download Snapchat. Lol…

I’m really tired, and have a day of visiting ahead of me. I’m excited as I get some time with Steven and get to meet Rain his boyfriend.

Chilliwack visit

I’m still at Jays. It has been a long week since Brooklyne went to her Mom for the week.

Erin was cleared last week so I have been out visiting and here relaxing with Joy. Erins Mom.

I’ve had dinner out with Feather and Nicole. Had a BBQ dinner with Wendy and Karen. Have met Erins daughter Jordenne and have enjoyed most of the time spent here.

I’ve been working out in the pool often.

Tonight Juno is missing and I am feeling awful. I don’t have anyway to help them except share on FB and offer support. Hopefully someone will come forward tomorrow but Juno only has a tattoo on her ear so whomever has her or has seen her have no way to know who or where the dog belongs to.

I’m heading to the island on Sat to be with Steven.
